DOWN LOAD EVENT FLYER

We, the Free People of America, are in danger of losing our Liberty and individual Freedoms to an ever growing and more intrusive federal government. The danger to our Liberty and to our individual freedoms is directly linked to the unconstitutional actions of the federal government, under both Democrat and Republican administrations, that have been occurring for over 100 years.

American citizens are determined to protect our constitutional guaranteed rights that are listed in the Bill of Rights. Our freedoms of speech and assembly (1st Amendment), religion (the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment), the right to keep and bear arms (2nd), freedom against unreasonable searches (4th), due process and against self-incrimination (5th), against cruel and unusual punishment (8th), and others are considered so important among the people that we will defend them with our last breath.

But there are two basic human freedoms at the end of the list of ten Amendments that
the people have sadly neglected for over 100 years. The 9th Amendment makes it clear that the powers given to the Federal Government by the constitution are not taken away from the people, but are rather granted to the federal Government by the people. The people retain their ultimate sovereignty over the Federal Government and the government serves at the pleasure of those it purports to govern.

The 10th Amendment clearly states that the Federal Government is authorized only
the very few powers specifically given to them by the people that are enumerated by the Constitution. All other powers not specifically given to the federal Government are retained by the state governments and the people.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Over more than 100 years, these two Amendments have been sadly neglected and the Federal Government has gradually expanded into a position of supreme power in violation of the Constitution. In fact, by 2010, the Federal Government has grown into a separate entity serving its own self-interests and those of special interest groups, rather than the interests of the people they are supposed to serve and state governments. Its prime constituency today are special interest groups and campaign contributors and not the American people.

The encroachment of the Federal Government now permeates all three branches of our federal government. The solution cannot be a partisan remedy. It is not a red-state vs blue-state issue, a Republican vs Democrat struggle; it is not conservative, nor is it liberal. Rather, it predates all those labels. It is the difference in governmental philosophy that caused Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton to argue bitterly and constantly, while competing for President Washington’s agreement.

Most of the original thirteen states would never have ratified the Constitution had it not been for the inclusion in the Bill of Rights and specifically the 9th and 10th Amendments. Unfortunately, the Federal Government can no longer be looked to for enforcement of these two rights.

It has now become necessary for the people and their state governments to take up the cause of fighting for their own sovereignty. State legislators and governors must be made aware that it is up to them to defend the people’s right to self-government and exert their state sovereignty.
